ScanHero allows you to scan documents, QR codes, ID cards, and images.

The documents and images you scan remain under your control.

We do not collect the contents of your scanned documents unless you explicitly choose to use a cloud or AI feature that requires processing.

Camera Permission

ScanHero requires Camera permission to:

  • Scan QR codes
  • Scan ID cards
  • Capture images

The camera is only used while you are actively using scanning features.

Storage & Photos

If you choose to import or save files, ScanHero may request access to:

  • Photos
  • Media
  • Files

This permission is only used to:

  • Import images
  • Save PDF files
  • Export scanned documents

We do not access files unrelated to ScanHero.

OCR Processing

If you use OCR (Text Recognition):

  • Images are processed to extract text.
  • OCR processing may occur on-device or through secure cloud services depending on the feature you use.
  • We do not permanently store extracted text unless you save it yourself.

AI Features

Some AI-powered features may use secure cloud-based processing to:

Only the information necessary to perform the requested feature is processed.
